Under the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020 (effective 2021+), packaged food products in India must display a Nutritional Information table. Mandatory nutrients include: Energy (kcal), Protein (g), Carbohydrate (g) with sub-declaration of Sugars and Added Sugars, Fat (g) with sub-declaration of Saturated Fat and Trans Fat, Sodium (mg), and optionally Dietary Fibre, Cholesterol, and vitamins/minerals.

%RDA (Percent Recommended Dietary Allowance) is based on ICMR (Indian Council of Medical Research) 2020 recommendations for a reference adult consuming 2,000 kcal per day. Reference values used: Energy 2000 kcal, Protein 60g, Carbohydrate 300g, Total Fat 67g, Saturated Fat 22g, Sodium 2300mg, Added Sugars 25g.

Under FSSAI 2020 regulations, nutrition information should be declared per 100g or 100mL, and per serving. The number of servings per package must also be stated. This two-column format (per 100g + per serving) is recommended for clarity and is the standard adopted by most manufacturers in India.

Yes. The FSSAI 2020 regulations make the declaration of Added Sugars mandatory for packaged foods. A product with ≥10g of added sugars per serving and contributing ≥5% of total energy from added sugars must also display an on-pack high sugar warning symbol.
